Sam breaks down Agora Financial's subscriber tiers: 10 million free subscribers, 550,000 paying $1–$600, a quarter-million paying $600–$5,000, and 100,000 people paying more than $5,000 for a single paid newsletter product.

Subscribers paying more than $5,000 for a paid newsletter · subscribers
They have 10 million free subscribers. So kind of like The Hustle, that's like they've got 10 million of that. Uh, this is even wilder. They have 550,000 people paying them $600— between $1 and $600 for subscribers. Then they have a quarter of a million people paying them $600 to $5,000. And finally, they have 100,000 people paying them more than $5,000 for a product, for a paid newsletter.

Agora's tripwire ladder: a $49 newsletter that upsells a $2,000 product

Sam explains Agora's model: 160 products across 12 brands, with some paid newsletters costing $35,000. The engine is a cheap $49/month newsletter front-end, and a large percentage of those buyers convert to a $2,000 back-end product.

The business model is they get you to buy a $50 or $49 thing Then they get you to buy a $2,000 thing. And they're— and so they get you to buy that $49 thing, and that $49 thing is like a monthly paid newsletter. Like, it's not significant, right? I don't understand how they get it to work. And a large percentage of those $49 people buy the $2,000 thing.

Steal thisBuild a cheap newsletter as the front-end tripwire, then upsell a high-ticket back-end product to the buyers who convert.
