Sam marvels at how note-taking apps are getting outsized valuations: Notion raised near a $1B valuation on roughly $10M revenue, and Roam at a quarter-billion on $1-2M.
“So Notion raised money at nearly a $1 billion valuation. They probably only had $10 million in revenue. Roam raised money at a quarter of a billion dollar valuation. I bet you they only had $1 or $2 million in revenue.”
Stu pitches a marketplace/app store of ready-made Notion templates (CRM, journal, etc.). Notion has a huge engaged community hacking together templates and scattering them across YouTube, but only ~12 official templates, so a platform tying them together is a big opportunity.

And so if you go on notion.so/templates, they have a couple, they have about 12. But if you want to become a power user, you got to go on YouTube, you got to find all the right channels, right?”
