The taste layer

When execution gets automated, judgment about what is worth doing becomes the scarce asset.

via House framework (AI era)

The hosts' recurring answer to "AI kills X": the sending gets automated, deciding who is worth annoying does not.

A pay-to-post job board restricted to 50 hand-curated companies

Shaan reveals the business behind the segment: a curated job board (built with Pallet) where only ~50 vetted high-upside companies can appear. Companies must pay to have their jobs show up; if they don't pay they're listed but with no live postings.

I'm going to curate 50 companies that meet this criteria and I'm going to basically create a job board from this. And the thing with the job board is you can't just be a company who wants to come list on here. No, only these 50 companies that are curated can post on this job board. They have to pay to do it. But, but, but if they don't pay, they're just on the list, but no jobs will show up.

Steal thisBuild a curated job board where the curation is the product: only hand-picked companies can appear, and they pay to activate their listings.

Software publisher: curate best-in-class apps instead of building another one

Shaan pitches reviving the publisher model for software: a trusted curator that picks the best-in-class tool in one category (e.g. HR tech) and distributes it under its umbrella. With endless tools and buyer trust scarce, being a great curator beats being yet another creator.

So if you have the trust of the consumer and you have the relationship with the buyer, then being a great curator is way better than being just yet another creator in a sea of creators who are all building, you know, these tools. And it's like, oh, which mail software should I use? There's 50,000. How the hell do I know which one to use?

Steal thisOwn buyer trust in one software vertical and become the curator/distributor for independent tools rather than building from scratch.
