"So what did you learn?" Most failed founders learned the wrong lesson
At a dinner, Tiny co-founder Chris pressed a founder about what his failed business taught him, and the founder fumbled for an answer. Chris told Shaan that after talking to many entrepreneurs, he rarely sees anyone take the right lesson from a failure.
“it would be like if I had started a restaurant, And my restaurant failed. And then I was like, I learned you shouldn't start a business when it's rainy season. And it's like, that's what you learned? And it's like that you didn't even learn the right lesson. And Chris basically pointed this out. He goes, I've talked to so many entrepreneurs. He goes, very rarely do I feel like somebody actually learned the right lesson from the thing.”
Steal thisAfter a failure, write down the single specific lesson and check it actually explains the outcome.
