Trilogy University: fly recruits to Vegas, hand them $1,000 to bet it all
Sam tells the story of Joe Liemandt, who dropped out of Stanford to found Trilogy Software in Austin. Its famous Trilogy University trained hundreds of young hires a year, and the wild founder would fly recruits to Vegas and hand them $1,000 to bet it all to get them comfortable with risk.
“There's stories of him taking— they would fly all the recruits to Vegas and he would say— they were young kids, they didn't have a lot of money, but he would say, "Here's $1,000 grand, bet it all." And he would try to do that to get them used to risk.”
