Span of control still caps a one-person, many-agents company
Asked whether one person could run 10 to 30 agents and replace most of a company, Wade argues that the managerial span-of-control limit (rulebook 8, stretched to 10 to 12, Jensen Huang's 60) applies to agents too. Agents keep handing you tasks, so he thinks one person tops out at about 20.
“And the way I think about the limits is that it's kind of like how a manager has like an ideal span of control where it's like, oh, I can only have like, you know, I don't know, the rulebook says 8. I think, you know, you're seeing people push the limits now to have like, you know, 10 or 12, or if you're Jensen, you've got 60 or whatever. But there's still a limit where it's just like, I just cognitively cannot like keep up. With like this many people.”
