Creators: pick an identity label you'll want to keep in public
Sam's sister-in-law Sydney Glander started a TikTok opening each video with "I'm 30, pregnant and I have cancer." Shaan suggests reframing it as "expecting mom and future cancer survivor," because the more public an identity is, the harder it is to change later.
“I think she should tweak it a little bit. Maybe try. I'm 30 years old. I'm you know I'm an expecting mom and future cancer survivor because I think the words. matter, the label you put on yourself, the identity, especially as a content creator. You— there's this weird thing where the more public you are about an identity, the harder it is to ever switch it.”
Steal thisBrand yourself with the identity you're moving toward, not the one you hope to leave behind.
